PUBG: Update 18.1, the details

The players of PUBG can take advantage of a new update, version 18.1 (June 8 on PC, June 16 on consoles). This modifies, among other things, the rotation of the cards, with the removal of Vikendi, in favor of Paramo, which therefore makes its return, in part normal. In competitive, only Erangel, Miramar and Taego are available. On Erangel and Miramar, the drop rate of items has also been increased, based on player feedback.

For the rest, you can check out the PUBG 18.1 update patch notes, which focuses on improving certain points, including the user interface.

CONSOLES – COMPETITIVE

  • Squad – FPP mode is no longer available in AN and EU regions due to the number of sessions reviewed during the previous season. This was not enough to guarantee a viable queue.

SEASON 17 REWARDS

Don’t forget to collect the rewards you will receive based on your final tier from the previous season.

  • The parachute skin is a permanent reward.
  • The other rewards to be obtained are usable for a single competitive season.
  • Rewards are available in inventory from the start of Season 18.
  • Once Season 18 is over and server maintenance has been performed, all rewards except the parachute skin will be removed from inventory.

BALANCE OF THE APPEARANCE OF OBJECTS

According to reports we received, healing items were hard to find in normal matches on Erangel and Miramar since the item spawn balancing implemented in Update 16.2. After reviewing internal data, we noticed that the spawn rate of healing items had decreased slightly in normal matches in Erangel. This change is mainly due to increasing the spawn rate of weapons and mods (without adjusting the overall amount of spawns).

On the other hand, in normal matches in Miramar, the number of healing items doesn’t decreased, as we also increased the total number of items that appear. However, we detected a relatively aggressive change in gameplay dynamics, driven by the increased likelihood of finding more weapons and mods on the battlefield. As a result, the natural demand for healing items has increased sharply.

In view of these changes, we have decided to make the following changes. ※ The item spawn rate balance listed below will apply exclusively to normal matches.

  • ERANGEL
    • Increased the total number of items by approximately 10%.
      • Vest (Lvl 1) and Backpack (Lvl 1) spawn rates decreased by ~15%, while Vest (Lvl 2) and Backpack ( level 2) increased by about 60%.
      • Helmet (Lvl 1) and Helmet (Lvl 2) drop rates increased by approximately 10%.
      • Spawn rates for Adrenaline Syringes, Energy Drinks, and Painkillers have increased by roughly 50%.
      • The spawn rate for Bandages has decreased by ~23%, but the spawn rate for First Aid Kits and First Aid Kits has increased by ~150%.
      • Stun Grenades, Molotov Cocktails, Smoke Grenades, and Grenades drop rates increased by approximately 25%.
      • Drop rates for hilts and stocks increased by approximately 20%.
      • ATV spawn rates increased by roughly 50%.
  • MIRAMAR
    • Approximately 6% increase in total item count.
      • Vest (Lvl 1) and Helmet (Lvl 1) spawn rates decreased by approximately 30%; Vest (Lvl 2) and Vest (Lvl 3) spawn rates increased by approximately 25%, and Helmet (Lvl 2) spawn rates increased by approximately 100%.
      • Backpack (Lvl 1) spawn rate decreased by ~6%, but Backpack (Lvl 2) spawn rate increased by ~25%.
      • Spawn rates for Adrenaline Syringes and Energy Drinks increased by ~76%, and Painkillers by ~97%.
      • First Aid Kit spawn rates increased by ~127% and First Aid Kit spawn rates increased by ~45%.
      • Stun Grenades, Molotov Cocktails, Smoke Grenades, and Grenades drop rates increased by approximately 20%.
      • Handgun spawn rates decreased by approximately 32%.
      • Stock spawn rate increased by approximately 20%.
      • ATV spawn rates increased by ~55%.
