PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–The advertising group Publicis announced on Tuesday the “immediate” cessation of its activities and investments in Russia, as well as the transfer of control of its agencies to local management.

Publicis Groupe “transfers control of its operations to Sergey Koptev, founding president of Publicis in Russia, with the contractual commitment to ensure a future for its employees in the country”, indicated Publicis in a press release, referring to a “disengagement of Russia”.

The group specified that this decision concerned 1,200 employees in Russia. Publicis also indicated that it provided daily assistance to its 350 employees in Ukraine.
