Pulitzer Prize: Announcement postponed due to the Corona crisis

The announcement of this year's Pulitzer Prize winners has to be postponed for two weeks due to the effects of the corona virus. The winners will not be announced online as of April 20, but instead via live stream on May 4. The organizers said in New York in a statement. "There are many high-ranking journalists on the front line of the Pulitzer Prize who are currently on the forefront of informing the public about the rapidly developing corona pandemic," said the renowned prize administrator, Dana Canedy. As a result, journalists would have more time to determine the winners for 2020.

The Pulitzer Prizes will be awarded for the 104th time this year. The jury honors journalistic work at New York's Columbia University in 14 of the 21 categories, the remaining awards go to works from literature, music and theater. The awards ceremony at Columbia University was postponed from May to autumn.
