Pulse and Origin, the two new electric motorcycles from Can-Am

To celebrate 50 years of its first off-road victories, the manufacturer Can-Am announces the upcoming launch of two models, the Pulse and Origin electric motorcycles.

Half a century after its first victories in off road, the Canadian manufacturer Can-Am, owned by the BRP group, is reconnecting with its past by offering new fully electric motorcycles, the Pulse and Origin. If the general public knows the brand today for its three-wheeled Spyders, Can-Am was born in the 1970s by designing cross bikes, some of which distinguished themselves in competition.

Half a century ago Can-Am roared to victory on the track, and today a new legacy begins. With the Can-Am Origin and Can-Am Pulse, the first two models in our line of electric two-wheelers, we are preparing to reclaim our motorcycle heritage by creating exhilarating riding experiences for a whole new generation.“said BRP President and CEO José Boisjoli.

Behind this somewhat enthusiastic speech, the manufacturer offers two motorcycles with very different styles. The Can-Am Origin pays homage to the manufacturer’s history with an adventure-oriented, all-terrain approach. The Can-Am Pulse leans on its side for a more on-road, trendy approach roadster. If the manufacturer announces that its two models will be powered by the Rotax E-Power engine, the technical specifics are not disclosed, and it will probably be necessary to wait another year before knowing more.

In the meantime, the manufacturer specifies that its motorcycles will deploy sufficient speed on the highway and deliver a lot of power and torque. In addition, Can-Am specifies that the models will support Level 2 fast charging. To be continued…
