A site that imitates the purring of the cat
And there are even sites that imitate their purring, in case you don’t have a representative of this feline breed in your home. This is what Purrli offers for example: you arrive on the home page, you put on your headphones or turn on your speakers, and off you go for an audio loop transcribing the vocalization of a cat, as if it were with you.
Purrli is easy to learn: several gauges are offered to adjust the purr: do you want it to be more asleep or awake? Regular or lively? That he has a more or less dull breathing? Relaxed or restless? Near or far? With or without mewing? Adjust the gauges until you find the vocalization that’s right for you.
Purrli is not a recent site. That Cat Blog was already talking about it in 2017. But for International Cat Day, talking about it now is a good opportunity And above all, it can change you from other background noise generators that you may have already used up the string, like those that reproduce the sounds of nature, open space or the atmosphere of a bar.
The Purrli site was designed by Stéphane Pigeon, a consultant specializing in sound processing. He is the one who designed the MyNoise site, which provides different sound environments according to your needs. This is also because MyNoise did not initially provide settings to simulate the purring of a cat. By dint of receiving almost every day requests of this type, he took the plunge.
The purrs on MyNoise come from there, with slightly more technical settings. There are, however, pre-saved profiles, including ‘tiger sleep’, if you want between a bigger ‘cat’. Much bigger. However, Stéphane Pigeon explains that he was never quite satisfied with the audio rendering on MyNoise. Purrli was born out of this dissatisfaction.
