PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–Qatar has selected Exxon Mobil, TotalEnergies, Shell and ConocoPhillips to participate in the expansion of North Field, the world’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) project, Reuters reported, citing people familiar with the matter.
The expansion will increase Qatar’s LNG production by 64% by 2027, Reuters reported.
Although a decision has been made, an official announcement naming the beneficiaries of the contract may not come before the end of the month, indicates Reuters. Chevron and ENI had also submitted offers to participate in the project, according to the article.
Contacted by the Agefi-Dow Jones agency, TotalEnergies was unable to comment immediately.
