QD-OLED, Mini LED or Full LED: the new Sony TVs are here, and some are on sale

For its new range of televisions, Sony hits hard by exploiting only premium screen technologies. QD-OLED, Mini LED, Full Array LED or even OLED: all are on sale at Fnac, and some even at reduced prices.

For the year 2022, Sony has renewed its entire range of televisions and they are now all available for sale at Fnac. Four different screen technologies make up this range, including a highly anticipated novelty. Sony launches its first-ever QD-OLED TV and the picture quality lives up to expectations.

On the occasion of the summer sales, several televisions from Sony’s new range are on sale at Fnac. The opportunity to take advantage of discounts of up to 500 euros on references that have just been released.

QD-OLED: OLED, even better

OLED televisions have been positioned for several years as the models offering the best image quality that can be found on the market. In particular thanks to the properties of the technology which guarantees intense blacks and very good contrast ratios. This year, OLED is taken to the next level: here is QD-OLED, which can be found on one of Sony’s new televisions.

Here, the OLED panel works in concert with “quantum dots”. Is this term familiar to you? This is normal, since it is a technology that can also be found on QLED televisions. During its test of the Sony XR-55A95K, the editorial staff of our colleagues at Frandroid noted that the QD-OLED offers ” a color rendering that seems much purer“, and this even on whites and grays, for “scenes that look incredibly natural .”

Mini LED: the future LED replacement

LED backlighting is the historical technology of our flat screens. Initially, the LEDs were placed on the edges of the screen and generated uneven lighting. Now, high-end and recent televisions have a backlight panel that takes up the entire space of the panel. It is the Full Array LED technology of Sony televisions which has the advantage of offering a high level of brightness and better contrast management.

In recent years, the LED backlight has improved, moving to Mini LED. The difference is in the size of the LEDs used. They are smaller and therefore can be placed more densely at the back of a slab. The result is an image with plenty of detail in bright areas while maintaining deep blacks. thebloomingis also reduced compared to conventional LED TVs, without doing better than OLED.

Sony TVs of 2022
