Quake 2 returns in a remastered version

It’s time for one of the most beloved FPS to make a comeback after 25 years. Acclaimed sequel to its release in 1997, Quake 2 is once again shaking the world of fast FPS in a remastered version. The game is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series and Switch since August 10. The opportunity to return to the arena, and enjoy the massacre in crossplay.

With this refurbished version, Quake 2 benefits from improved models, a more powerful AI, as well as resolutions adapted to new screens. Cutscenes have also been reworked, while the soundtrack has remained the same. Multiplayer is obviously at the center of the title, whether with a cooperative mode for the campaign, or to compete in death matches. Whether online or locally, everything is possible here.

However, id Software and Bethesda have not been content to offer a more contemporary version of the game. Two original mission packs are appearing, offering no less than 33 campaign levels, and 21 deathmatch maps. The “Call of the Machine” expansion was also developed for the occasion. The latter, created by MachineGames, further develops the campaign and offers a new multiplayer map.
