(CercleFinance.com) – Qualcomm announced Friday the signing of a multi-year strategic agreement with Meta for the development of chips for Meta Quest, the virtual reality platform of the social network group.
The manufacturer of mobile chips explains that it plans to deepen its technical collaboration with its partner in engineering and product development in order to design, from its Snapdragon XR technology, tools entirely dedicated to the metaverse.
Qualcomm recalls that it has been cooperating with Meta on virtual reality issues for seven years, including the Meta Quest 2 headset, Meta’s most advanced VR system to date.
The announcement was made official today by Cristiano Amon, the general manager of Qualcomm, and the co-founder and CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, on the occasion of the IFA fair in Berlin.
