New super electric platform
In the Trinity factory, VW wants to build vehicles on the new SSP architecture (Scalable Systems Platform), on which around 40 million electric cars across all brands should be based in a few years. From 2026, this electric super platform will gradually replace the architectures with combustion engines (MQB, MSB, MLB) and fully electric drives (MEB, PPE) at its brands VW, Skoda, Seat, Audi and Porsche. Tesla boss Elon Musk has set himself the goal of 20 million electric cars by 2030.
