Invited this Tuesday morning at the microphone of Sonia Mabrouk, the Renaissance deputy of Oise Éric Woerth returned to the Adrien Quatennens affair. The LFI deputy from the North, targeted by a handrail filed by his wife, announced on Sunday that he was stepping back from his post as coordinator of insubordinate France.

It is a case that shakes the party of France Insoumise. Adrien Quatennens, party coordinator and deputy for the North, is targeted by a handrail filed by his wife, about “domestic violence”. After several calls from members of his political party to withdraw from the political scene, the deputy published a press release announcing “to withdraw from his post of coordinator of insubordinate France”. An investigation has been opened by the Lille prosecutor’s office.

At the microphone of Europe 1, the deputy of Oise Eric Woerth refrained from bringing Adrien Quatennens to trial. “Mr. Quatennens has spoken. He has retired from his duties. There will no doubt be sanctions,” he said. But, within Nupes, some voices want a total withdrawal from the political scene, like the Green MP Sandrine Rousseau.

“It’s very dangerous”

“There is physical violence and that which consists in taking the mobile phone of the other. Violence against women takes many faces. None is acceptable. Justice must decide and awaits A.Quatennens must set back from everything“, she tweeted this Sunday.

Remarks to which Éric Woerth reacted, believing that “Madame Rousseau is no longer a deputy, she is a prosecutor without the diplomas and without the skills of a prosecutor”. Before adding: “It’s very dangerous”.

For him, this affair underlines the need for authority and citizenship of the French. “Everyone wonders at some point what their role will be to change the country, its laws and to change Europe and lead it into the ecological transition”. And to add: “Each citizen has his role to play and that’s why we want coordination, ecological planning. And offering more meaning is what matters to me today”, assures Eric Woerth.
