Queen Camilla
Harsh words against Charles’ wife on social media
Queen Camilla spoke up on the Royal Family’s official Instagram account on the occasion of International Women’s Day – but there was immediately a hail of criticism in the comments section.
Queen Camilla is harshly criticized
Queen Camilla famously didn’t have an easy start in the Royal Family or the public. When her relationship with Charles began, the current regent was still married to Princess Diana, †36. It took many years for Camilla to be generally accepted. Now, however, she is once again exposed to criticism from royal fans. To mark International Women’s Day on March 8th, a special post was posted on the British Royal Family’s Instagram account. Queen Camilla can be seen on the tile, next to it is a quote from her from 2021.
“It takes an entire community – male and female – to dismantle the lies, words and actions that promote a culture where sexual assault is seen as normal and where the victim is shamed,” said Camilla, who has been speaking out for years committed to combating violence against women. In the comments column, some users are bothered by the fact that the quote is marked “Her Majesty, the Queen”. Because according to these users, Queen Elizabeth, †96, was the only true queen. “Not my queen,” can be read several times under the post. “Ruining another woman’s life and then celebrating International Women’s Day, how ironic. #LadyDi,” is a particularly pointed remark.
Fans jump to King Charles’ wife’s side
However, some followers also jump to Queen Camilla’s side. A user demands that we finally let bygones be bygones. “Queen Camilla has done an outstanding job leading the Royal Family through this difficult and unexpected time. It is interesting that her years of experience in dealing with crises behind the scenes have now become a stable presence,” it also said Comments column.
Other royal fans also seem to find it much worse that Camilla’s quote seems to be in direct contrast to the fact that Prince Andrew, 64, is attending royal events again despite his connection to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, †66.
On February 27th, the disgraced prince attended the memorial service for ex-King Constantine of Greece, †82, in Windsor in an inappropriately good mood. Some Royal fans obviously still don’t approve of his appearance.
