The Queen is getting her very own Barbie for her 96th birthday and platinum jubilee. The doll is part of the Tribute series.

On the occasion of her 96th birthday this Thursday (April 21) and her platinum throne jubilee, Queen Elizabeth II will be honored with a Barbie doll made in her likeness.

Inspired by one of her most iconic looks, the “Queen Elizabeth II Barbie” (Mattel) wears an elegant ivory dress with slightly puffed sleeves and a blue sash decorated with medals, as well as white gloves. Her royal outfit is completed with matching accessories and a sparkling tiara. The crown is modeled after Queen Mary’s (1867-1953) fringed tiara worn by Queen Elizabeth at her marriage to Prince Philip (1921-2021).

The Queen Barbie was for $ 75 (about 69 euros) from Thursday (April 21) at Amazon, Walmart, Target and Mattel and is currently sold out.

Royal expert praises the Queen’s honorary Barbie

The historian and professor Kate Williams, author of the book “Our Queen Elizabeth”, explains to “People” magazinesaid that on the occasion of Her Majesty’s 70th anniversary, it was wonderful to see an iconic brand like Barbie passing down important historical female figures as leaders, creators and pioneers to new generations.

The Barbie Tribute Series

Launched last year, the first doll in the Barbie Tribute series honors actress Lucille Ball (1911-1989), who, with her comedic genius and incredible business acumen, became a television legend and a pioneer for women in entertainment.
