Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles mourn their wealthy friend Lord Samuel Vestey. His wife was Prince Harry's godmother.

Queen Elizabeth II (94) and her firstborn, Prince Charles (72), mourn the loss of a close family friend. Lord Samuel Vestey has died at the age of 79, it was announced on Thursday. As "Mail Online" reports, the millionaire businessman died just a few months after the sudden death of his wife, Lady Celia Vestey.

Lord Vestey was one of the richest men in Great Britain with an estimated fortune of £ 750 million (around € 855 million). He was the owner of the 6,000 acre Stowell Park Estate in Gloucestershire. At the age of only 13 he succeeded his grandfather in the title of nobility. He trained at Eton College before attending the Sandhurst Royal Military Academy and serving as a lieutenant in the Scottish Guard.

Lady Vestey was Prince Harry's godmother

Staying out of the social limelight, Lady Vestey was one of the six godparents of Queen's grandson Prince Harry, 36, alongside Prince Andrew (60), Lady Sarah Chatto, Bryan Organ, Gerald Ward and Princess Diana's former roommate Carolyn Bartholomew.

Lord Vestey leaves two sons, a daughter and four grandchildren. From his first marriage there were two more daughters.
