Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip: rich gifts from great-grandchildren on their wedding day

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are delighted with the gift from Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis for their wedding anniversary.

Queen Elizabeth II (94) and Prince Philip (99) celebrate their 73rd wedding anniversary. A photo that the palace published on Instagram for the occasion shows how the two sit next to each other on a couch in the "Oak Room of Windsor Castle" and talk about the gift of their great-grandchildren, Prince George (7), Princess Charlotte ( 5) and Prince Louis (2) are happy. The children of Prince William (38) and Duchess Kate (38) had "made their own greeting card" for the two of them. Many more, already opened greeting cards are in front of the anniversaries on the coffee table.

Another charming detail can also be seen in the photo: the British Queen adorned her light blue wool crepe dress by Stewart Parvin with her chrysanthemum brooch. She was first photographed, then still a princess, with the platinum-set jewel made of sapphires and diamonds while strolling through the gardens of Broadlands in Hampshire on her honeymoon. According to the Daily Mail, she also wore the brooch in official pictures taken on the occasion of the couple's 60th wedding anniversary in 2007.

Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark announced their engagement on July 9, 1947. The wedding was celebrated on November 20, 1947 in Westminster Abbey in London. When her father, King George VI. (1895-1952), died on February 6, 1952, she became queen. Because of the corona restrictions, the royal couple lives in seclusion at the castle west of London.
