Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are due to be vaccinated against the coronavirus soon. Mass vaccination of the population will also begin shortly.

Queen Elizabeth II (94) and husband Prince Philip (99) are said to be vaccinated against the corona virus "in the coming weeks". The British tabloid "Daily Mail" reports, citing "high-ranking sources".

The royal couple should not be preferred, but "stand in the queue" in order to receive the vaccine at the same time as all other citizens of this age group. According to the national vaccination plan, this will happen in a few weeks. The couple get vaccinated against the virus on the advice of their doctors.

Vaccination of the Queen is supposed to relieve the population

British health experts expect the 94-year-old to publicly announce her vaccination afterwards to ease the fear of the vaccine. Thus, it can prevent the refusal of the vaccine and the spread of false information by conspiracy theorists. The rest of the royal family such as Prince Charles (72) and Prince William (38) should also receive the vaccine in the course of the mass vaccination, but they should also not receive priority over other members of their age groups.

Last Wednesday (December 2nd), Great Britain was the first country to grant the Mainz-based pharmaceutical company Biontech and US partner Pfizer emergency approval for their corona vaccine. The first vaccination phase is scheduled to begin next Tuesday, in which all citizens over 80 years of age as well as nursing staff are in second place after residents of old people's homes. England's Queen and her husband also belong to this group.
