An exhibition about Prince Philip was to mark his 100th birthday. With the blessing of the Queen, she can also open after his death.

Prince Philip (1921-2021) would have turned 100 on June 10th. The milestone was to be celebrated, among other things, with a special exhibition on the life and the 73-year marriage of the Prince Consort. After his death last April, she should now open her gates – and the Queen (95) has already given the green light.

According to the British “Mirror” The exhibition in Windsor Castle focuses on Prince Philips’ wedding to the now 95-year-old monarch in November 1947, her family they founded together and his career in the Navy. In addition, his charitable work and his love for horse-drawn carriage races are to be highlighted.

“Huge numbers of visitors” expected at Windsor Castle

A source told the daily that “huge numbers of visitors are expected” and that the “Queen’s generosity” in relation to the items she provided was a pleasant surprise. Much has been said about the Duke of Edinburgh since his death, “but there is so much more to see”. According to the report, Queen Elizabeth II will be offered a private tour of the exhibition through her husband.

The Prince Philip exhibition is supposed to bring a kind of new start to the Royal Collection Trust, which has lost millions of euros in tourism income due to the corona pandemic. Previously, the foundation had to cut hundreds of jobs.
