In the coming year, the Queen will celebrate her platinum anniversary. She is said to have invited Harry and Meghan to the celebrations.

Is that an attempt at reconciliation? Queen Elizabeth II (95) will celebrate her platinum anniversary on the throne of the British royal family next year. In 2022 she has been the head of the royal family for 70 years. Of course, this special occasion would like to be celebrated appropriately. And as an insider reported to the Daily Mail, Prince Harry (36) and Duchess Meghan (39) should also be invited to the celebrations: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been invited and I am sure that the Queen is looking forward to seeing them there.”

More precisely, the American by choice and his wife are invited to the regent’s birthday party, which is to take place next June. The so-called “Trooping the Color” parade extends over a full four days for the anniversary – during which the royal family traditionally appears on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. But will Harry and Meghan actually be there with the rest of the family?

“The balcony won’t be decided until near the ceremony, but there is a limit to how many family members there should be; and I would have thought that working royals who contribute to the family would be higher up on the list than the Sussexes” the insider guessed.

Tense relationship with the royal family

Harry and Meghan finally resigned from their royal engagements in March 2020 and retired to their California home. In March of this year, the two gave a disclosure interview with Oprah Winfrey (67). Above all, Meghan confronted the British royal court with serious allegations. In their perception, some members have a strong problem with racism. Since then, the relationship between the Sussexes and the rest of the family seems to be particularly strained.
