The Queen just wanted to thank the winners of the Commonwealth Points of Light Awards – and got a little surprise.

Queen Elizabeth II (94) was able to look forward to a small concert in a video conference: After thanking the winners of the Commonwealth Points of Light Awards for their "wonderful" efforts, a children's orchestra offered her a serenade in honor of her 73rd wedding anniversary. It is said to have been the first virtual concert that the Queen attended, as reported by the British Daily Mail.

The young musicians came from a symphony orchestra that is part of Sistema Cyprus – an organization founded by the Cypriot music teacher Nikoletta Polydorou to support disadvantaged children with free music education and instruments. The Queen seemed to like the concert, she grinned in front of the screen and then thanked her enthusiastically: "That was very nice."

The Queen and Prince Philip (99) tied the knot on November 20, 1947 in Westminster Abbey in London. Because of the corona restrictions, the royal couple lives in seclusion at Windsor Castle west of London.
