The Queen's housekeeper in Sandringham quit after 32 years – allegedly after a rebellion against the monarch's plans.

The housekeeper of Queen Elizabeth II (94) on the royal estate in Sandringham has quit her job after 32 years. According to The Sun newspaper, 56-year-old Patricia Earl allegedly quit her job after an employee riot. Members of staff in Sandringham reportedly protested plans to isolate themselves from their loved ones for a month around Christmas. Patricia Earl, who was awarded the Royal Victorian Medal for her services in 2018, was "ashamed" of this.

At the farm, however, they don't want to know anything about problems. A spokesman for the Buckingham Palace told the "Sun" on Patricia Earl's departure that it had been "amicable". The newspaper, on the other hand, writes that the Queen is said to have been "angry" that the employees protested against the quarantine directive in the corona pandemic.

Does the Queen have to celebrate in Windsor because of the Sandringham revolt?

According to the "Sun" about 20 employees are said to have been asked to stay on the property in Sandringham for a month without seeing their families in between to look after the Queen and her husband Prince Philip (99). The monarch usually spends the Christmas season at her Norfolk residence. Is the refusal of the staff to separate from their families over Christmas, so the reason why the Queen is celebrating the festival at Windsor Castle for the first time in 33 years, as the "Sun" claims?

Elizabeth II and Prince Philip will also be without a visit because of the corona pandemic and will celebrate without their family, as a spokeswoman for Buckingham Palace announced to British media reports last week: "After weighing all suitable recommendations, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh have decided they would have a quiet Christmas holiday in Windsor this year. " There the royal couple lives in isolation to protect themselves from the virus. The Queen has only attended a few public appointments since the outbreak of the pandemic.
