Queen Elizabeth II: monarch withdraws further

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Queen will no longer attend any major events this year. She returns to Windsor.

Queen Elizabeth II (94) will probably not be seen again until 2021 at receptions and larger events in Buckingham Palace. According to British media reports, the royal family confirmed that there are no more major events planned there and at Windsor Castle this year. Accordingly, the monarch's employees have decided to remove large events from the queen's calendar due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The 94-year-old Queen will spend the next time at Windsor Castle and not attend major events as the corona virus continues to pose a serious health risk, it is said. Elizabeth II will apparently not avoid London completely. According to the reports, she could have certain tasks and obligations in Buckingham Palace, but only if she does not encounter a large crowd.

Return to Windsor

At the moment, the Queen is still on her property in Sandringham, where she and her husband Prince Philip (99) spent a few days off after their summer break in the Scottish Balmoral Castle. She is expected to return to Windsor soon. She and her Prince Consort had lived there since the beginning of the corona pandemic, surrounded by only a few employees.
