Queen Elizabeth II will not attend the traditional Highland Games this year. Instead, Prince Charles will step in again.

Queen Elizabeth II (96) has canceled another important appointment. Like the British “Daily Mail” reported, the monarch will not take part in the Braemar Gathering, one of the most famous Highland Games in Scotland.

Instead, she will be represented there next Saturday by her eldest son Prince Charles (73). As a patron, the Queen has usually been a guest at the sporting competitions every year. However, she is said to have been struggling with mobility problems for several months.

New Prime Minister not received in London

The palace also recently confirmed that the Queen will not receive the new successor to Prime Minister Boris Johnson (58) for the first time in London, but at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. The Queen is breaking with a long-standing tradition. “Mobility problems” were also given as a reason.
