Queen Elizabeth II: That's why she never shows her feelings

Queen Elizabeth II has been on the throne for over 60 years. There were times of ups and downs, in which the Queen was always smiling in public. However, one thing was not experienced in all these years: One could look for a real emotional outburst from the queen for a long time.

Again and again, facial expressions and body language experts try to analyze every minute detail of the Queen's appearance. Does she raise an eyebrow? Does the corner of the mouth look up? Does she look skeptical or even annoyed? But with Queen Elizabeth II they have always had bad cards. Because the Queen is known for always appearing neutrally in public – even when things are boiling politically or privately.

As it now turns out, the Queen's behavior also has a very special reason. It leads back to a time when she was not a queen, but primarily a daughter. Her father King George VI. is said to have provided Elizabeth with important advice for her future even then. One of them is said to have read: Make yourself aware that you are always being watched.

This advice came up again in the course of the National Geographics documentary "Being the Queen" by Tom Jennings. In it, Michael Mann, the royal chaplain of the 80s, tells of a conversation with the Queen: "I remember her once telling me: 'My father told me that I always have to remember that whatever I say or do, If I showed disapproval, people will remember that I was disapproving.
