According to royal expert Russell Myers, the British royal family is on alert. Queen Elizabeth officials are trying to protect the monarch from her own grandson, Prince Harry. The reason: Harry’s planned Netflix documentary.

It’s a question that has occupied royals for months: what else can members of the British royal family confide in Prince Harry, 37? Ultimately, Oprah’s interview with the Sussexes showed that even private conversations are no longer kept from the public eye.

In the coming months, the palace expects new “hand grenades” that the prince will fire at his own family. On the one hand, it is the announced memoirs that are causing concern. On the other hand, it is Harry and Duchess Meghan’s, 40, Netflix production that is viewed with great skepticism. The employees of Queen Elizabeth, 96, want to protect the monarch from that.

Palace is said to have erected a “ring of steel” around Queen Elizabeth

As royal expert Russell Myers explains to “Today”, the Queen is surrounded by a protective wall of people so that Prince Harry has no chance of including his grandmother in his documentation. “I’m sure you advised Harry and Megan not to think about it for even a second,” Myers said.

But such a simple rebuke from the Sussexes would not suffice. “They were told not to talk to Oprah Winfrey, not to talk to Gayle King […]and yet they still do it.” For this reason, it is important to protect the Queen from her grandson with a “ring of steel”. How exactly this protection is structured remains uncertain.

Royal expert: “One wonders how much the family can endure”

According to Russell Myers, Prince Charles, 73, and Prince William, 39, are at the end of their strength. In particular, it is Harry’s public presence that prevents them from having a clarifying conversation. How much of that would remain confidential? It’s a question the palace says Queen Elizabeth should ask herself too, lest her comments become unintentionally part of Harry’s Netflix documentary.

Harry’s upcoming projects will only show whether the conversations that the regent has with her grandson actually remain confidential – even then it will turn out how securely the “ring of steel” was able to protect the queen.
