Queen: European tour will only take place next year

The British rock band Queen ("Bohemian Rhapsody") can not defy the Corona crisis. The cult rockers actually wanted to go on a major European tour from May onwards, but have to postpone their shows, as a current message says. At the same time, the band, which for several years has replaced singer Adam Lambert (38) as a replacement for the late Freddie Mercury (1946-1991), directly announced alternative dates for their concerts. In most cases to the day, the shows will not take place in 2020, but in 2021.

The new dates for Germany and Switzerland: Berlin (June 24, 2021), Cologne (June 26, 2021), Zurich (June 28, 2021) and Munich (June 29, 2021). The tour also takes Queen to Italy, France, Spain, Denmark, Great Britain and the Netherlands.

Not an easy decision

The decision to move was made for the "safety of the audience, the band, the crew and the employees of the venues" – and the musicians had no easy decision with almost 400,000 tickets sold. The latter should also remain valid for the new dates

"We are very sad that we have to announce the postponement of our summer shows in Europe, if it can't come as a surprise to our fans given the current crazy world," said Brian May (72), lead guitarist for Queen.

At the same time, May can hardly believe: "These incredible scenes at our concerts just over a month ago seem like an incredibly distant dream. The band was lucky enough to be able to complete this other tour." I know that many of our fans are there have similar moments of disbelief and bewilderment outside. "
