At the gala dinner in Sweden, Queen Letizia and Queen Silvia remember the wedding of Crown Princess Victoria. And Princess Sofia?
Queen Letizia (49) and King Felipe of Spain (53) are currently on a two-day state visit to Sweden. At the glamorous gala dinner, which King Carl Gustaf (75) and Queen Silvia (77) hosted in their honor on Wednesday evening in the Stockholm Palace, the Spaniard wore a robe with a very special message.
Memories of Victoria and Daniel’s tenth wedding anniversary
In homage to Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden (44), Letizia had chosen the same ball gown as Victoria on an official photo for the tenth wedding anniversary with Prince Daniel (48) in June 2020. The only difference: the Spaniard chose the sleeveless version of the midnight blue ruffled dress made of shiny tulle. Letizia combined the fleur-de-lys tiara of the former Spanish Queen Victoria (Victoria Eugénie von Battenberg, 1887-1969), Felipe’s great-grandmother.
Crown Princess Victoria also presented herself in a dress that she already had on the official portrait for the tenth wedding anniversary had worn. The nude-colored evening dress by Frida Jonsvens Couture is decorated with countless flower applications. The Swedish heir to the throne combined the Kokoshnik tiara with aquamarines by Queen Alexandra (1844-1925).
Queen Silvia also remembered the wedding of her firstborn with a detail of her elegant metallic-colored gala dinner look. She wore the cameo tiara that Victoria chose to be her wedding dress on June 19, 2010. Silvia Sommerlath, as the Heidelberg native was called, also wore the piece of jewelery at her own wedding in 1976.
Sofia wears her own wedding tiara
In contrast to the other three royal women, Silvia’s daughter-in-law, Princess Sofia (36), appeared in a figure-hugging robe. The light color of the dress also stood out clearly. With her tiara, she also reminded of a wedding, but of her own with Prince Carl Philip of Sweden (42) on June 13, 2015. The Swedish royal couple had given her the piece of jewelry at the time for their wedding.
