Queen Letizia is currently vacationing with her family in Mallorca. Although the Queen has some official appointments to attend, she also has some free time. But what is she doing in these hours? Sometimes she doesn’t accompany her husband on a sailing trip.
Queen Letizia, 49, is enjoying her summer vacation with husband Felipe, 54, mother-in-law Sofia, 83, and their daughters Princess Leonor, 16, and Princess Sofia, 15, in Mallorca. In addition to official appointments on the island, the royal family has plenty of time to relax in peace. King Felipe prefers to be out on the open sea during these hours, the monarch is a passionate sailor. However, his wife rarely accompanies him on these excursions.
Does Queen Letizia ‘hide’ in the palace when she’s not on appointments?
While Felipe traveled to Mallorca on July 28, 2022 and had several audiences on the agenda, Letizia, Leonor and Sofia only arrived on the island on Saturday July 30. Letizia has since completed two dates, attended the Valldemossa photoshoot and was spotted twice last weekend going out to dinner with her family. Otherwise, she usually “hides” in the family residence on the grounds of the Marivent Palace, according to Spanish media.

Queen Letizia was also absent on Saturday, August 6, 2022, when the 40th Copa del Rey Mapfre regatta ended after six days. Of course, King Felipe was there and then personally presented the trophies to the winners.

As the Spanish magazine “Vanitatis” claims to have learned, Letizia is said to have met her friends Cristina and Pilar that Saturday. Pilar is the wife of singer Jaime Anglada. Along with Princess Leonor and Princess Sofia, the women are said to have taken a trip to the beach while Felipe went about the duty. After all, the royal family is actually on vacation.
