She attended the Queen’s state funeral in London on Monday. Now Queen Margrethe II has tested positive for the corona virus.
Queen Margrethe II of Denmark (82) has been infected with the corona virus. The palace announced this on Wednesday afternoon (September 21) on Instagram, among other things known. “Her Majesty the Queen tested positive for Covid-19 last night and is now staying at Fredensborg Palace,” the statement said. Fredensborg Palace is located north of the capital Copenhagen.
The Queen tested positive for Covid-19 for the first time in February of this year. At the time, it was reported that she had received three vaccinations against the coronavirus.
Almost everything canceled
The Queen’s activities this week have been canceled, the palace said in a statement.
However, the “Friday evening party at Christiansborg Palace for the government, the Danish Parliament and the Danish Members of the European Parliament” has not been cancelled. Find them with “His Royal Highness the Crown Prince [Frederik, Red.] and Her Royal Highness the Crown Princess [Mary] as hosts”, according to the Danish royal family.
At the Queen’s State Funeral
Only on Monday (September 19) did Queen Margrethe and her son, Crown Prince Frederik (54) travel to London to attend the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) together with 2,000 other invited guests, including other crowned heads and heads of state ) at Westminster Abbey.
