Here Frederik was titled king – long before their abdication

It was clear from the start: Only a very select group of people knew that Queen Margrethe would announce her abdication on December 31, 2023. All the more irritating is the material that has now been released from a series that was actually recorded long before.
Even King Frederik, 55, is said to have only found out about Queen Magrethes, 83, plans to abdicate a few days before New Year’s Eve 2023. The public only found out what had been brewing for a long time within the old monarch herself two weeks before Frederik was proclaimed king. However, a series that has now been published makes it seem as if selected people knew about Margrethe’s abdication months beforehand. As the “Svensk Damtidning” reported on May 20th, the makers of the series “Orkestret” dubbed the then Crown Prince Frederik king in the second season – the material was shot long before his proclamation. How does that fit together?
Queen Margrethe + King Frederik: Producer has to clear up irritation
The series “Orkestret” is actually not about the Danish royal family at all, quite the opposite: As the industry portal “Imdb” shows, the series is “a tragicomic workplace drama that takes place in and around a symphony orchestra. ” The first season premiered in 2022, the episodes of the second season will now air in May 2024. Producer Morten Egholm even admits to “Billed Bladet” that filming was completed long before Frederik’s proclamation.

Not only did the Danish journalists from “Billed Bladets” ask themselves whether the production knew about Margrethe’s wish to abdicate months before, the Swedish editors from “Svensk Damtidning” also took up this fact again. As a result, Egholm has to explain the title confusion: “The filming of ‘Orkestret’ took place before the Queen announced her abdication – so we decided to change the line in post-production as we feel that it should have the right title,” said Egholm. And further: “That meant that Neel Rønholt [eine der Schauspieler:innen aus dem Cast] in the post-production of the soundtrack he had to change his line to ‘King Frederik’ instead of ‘Crown Prince’.”
