The Jordanian royal family is allowed to celebrate. Queen Rania will celebrate her 53rd birthday on August 31st. To commemorate the occasion, the palace is releasing a new photo one day before the Day of Appreciation of Nobility.
In Jordan, after a two-month summer break, there is a new reason to celebrate – Queen Rania celebrates her 53rd birthday on August 31st. But before the wife of King Abdullah, 61, officially celebrates her day of honor with the family and the two new children-in-law Jameel Alexander Thermiotis, 29, and Princess Rajwa, 29, and toasts to a new year, fans of the Royal happy. It has become a tradition in the royal houses to publicly congratulate a member of the palace on the birthday and to publish a portrait in advance. It’s the same this time: 24 hours before Rania’s big day, the Jordanian palace published a new picture of the monarch on the occasion of her 53rd birthday.
Elegant in a midnight blue blouson
The royal family shares the new snapshot of the queen through its official press office – and the birthday child is beaming from ear to ear. In the photo, the soon to be 53-year-old sits on a white sofa with a cup in her hand and smiles happily at the camera. In front of her are reading glasses and a tablet, it looks as if Rania in her dark blue, shiny jacket was spontaneously surprised by her media team.

All in all, the look of the monarch is characterized by relaxed elements throughout: She wears a casual dark tank top with white darts under the subtly chic blouson from Louis Vuitton, and a filigree silver chain shines in her neckline. Delicate diamond earrings pick up the look again. And the mother of four also keeps her make-up extremely subtle for her birthday portrait. The Jordanian’s hair falls loosely over her shoulders, and she supports her free arm on the armrests of the chic designer sofa. In addition to dark blue eyeliner – matching the outfit – she chooses a pink lipstick. The rest of her beauty look remains reserved and naturally glowy.
Queen Rania looks back on an eventful year
A year older and a lot has happened: The past year of Rania’s life was marked by numerous events. So the queen not only celebrated the weddings of her children Princess Iman, 26, and Crown Prince Hussein, 29, but also the school graduation of son Hashem, 18, and the university degree of Princess Salma, 22. The pretty brunette is expected to spend her 53rd birthday with all of them.
Politically, too, the wife of the Jordanian king has had some exciting months. One of her biggest projects in the past year: environmental issues. For example, in her capacity as a member of the Earthshot Prize Council, she spoke alongside stars like Matt Damon, 52, and Bill Gates, 67, at the first-ever Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit, held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. In her speech, she called for collective action and ingenuity to be mobilized to fix the planet.
