Queen Sofia certainly did not expect this – she was received with standing ovations at a donation concert. She is touched and grateful.
Ex-Queen Sofia of Spain is currently seen more often than the royal couple. The 82-year-old was last seen at the special concert "Auditorio Nacional de Música" together with her sister Princess Irene of Greece and the Spanish Minister of Culture.
At her appearance Sofia was celebrated and received with thunderous applause. She is visibly touched and shines in competition with the orchestra hall. Sofia has also been retired since her husband Juan Carlos resigned – but she still seems to enjoy occasional public appearances.
