  • “Queer Eye” was renewed by Netflix for four more seasons after its actual cancellation after season 7.
  • However, the new episodes of season 9 have to do without Bobby Berk.
  • Now a replacement for Bobby has been found.

The reboot of the makeover show “Queer Eye” became a surprise hit for Netflix in 2018. As in the original show “Queer Eye For the Straight Guy”, the new “Fab Five” – an expert team consisting of five queer men – were supposed to improve the lives of the candidates and later also the candidates.

With the announcement of the start date of the 8th season, fans of the show also expected sad news: Bobby Berk is leaving the Fab Five team after the 8th season. The series was actually supposed to end after the 7th season, which is why the interior designer has made other plans that he no longer wants to cancel.

In season 9, which was confirmed by Netflix at the same time (via Deadline), a replacement must be found for Berk, who was the interior design expert on the show and carried out extensive renovations of the candidates’ apartments and houses.

According to new reports, interior designer Jeremiah Brent will take over the vacant position in the Fab Five. Brent is the founder of Jeremiah Brent Design, with locations in Los Angeles and New York City, and owner of the lifestyle brand Atrio.

Brent also released his first book on February 20, 2024. In “The Space That Keeps You: When Home Becomes a Love Story,” the designer examines what gives rooms “meaning.”

Antoni Porowski (food and wine), Jonathan Van Ness (grooming), Tan France (fashion) and Karamo Brown (culture) will continue to be part of the makeover show in season 9. However, the new season will change location and take place in Las Vegas.
