Quentin Tarantino supposedly knows almost every movie that has ever been made. But only a few he considers perfect.
Quentin Tarantino (59) has named seven films that are flawless for him. Moderator Jimmy Kimmel (54) asked the director in his late-night show that he described the horror film “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” (1974) as “perfect” in his new book “Cinema Speculation”. Now Kimmel wanted to know which films the cult director also considers perfect.
Horror and Comedy from the 1970s
In addition to the slasher classic “Texas Chainsaw Massacre”, Tarantino named two other horror films from the 1970s: “The Exorcist” (1973) and “Jaws” (1975). “The City Neurotic” (1977) by Woody Allen (86) also comes from the 70s. For Tarantino, the comedy is also a perfect film.
The filmmaker also mentions “Frankenstein Junior” (1974). According to Tarantino, Mel Brooks (96) horror parody is considered perfect by some people, which he can understand. The most recent film on the list is Back to the Future from 1985.
He has doubts about “The Wild Bunch”.
Quentin Tarantino isn’t sure about “The Wild Bunch” (1968). First he names the western, but since its “imperfections are part of its shine”, the director withdraws the film. After all, he only wants to count films that are “unassailable” for him.
