On Sunday August 14, 2022, Israeli pop singer Zvika Pick died at the age of 72. He was buried the following day in Ramat Hasharon, in the presence of his family and friends.
The music world is in mourning. Zvika Pick, one of Israel’s most popular singers is died on Sunday August 14 at the age of 72. According to the local press, he was found dead in his home by Ramat Hasharon. The following day, his funeral took place at the New Ramat Hasharon cemetery, during a private ceremony where his family and friends had been invited.
According to the news site ynetseveral celebrities, including musicians Aviv Geffen, Arik Berman, Harel Moyal, Oshik Levi and Nisim Garame came pay him a last respect. The eulogy was delivered by songwriter Yoav Ginai and actor Nicky Goldstein and relatives of the artist, born in Poland in 1949, used the words of his song Neesaf Tishrei. After his death, Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid stressed that “his songs and melodies will continue to be played for many years“.
Zvika Pick was Quentin Tarantino’s stepfather
Regularly referred to as “king of pop of israel“, Zvika Pick had established itself as a pillar of the Israeli music industry. By the 1970s, he had released nine albums and garnered attention signing the song Divaperformed by the Israeli transsexual singer, Dana International, who won Eurovision in 1998. He had also found great success with the exit of the tube Mary Lou.
On the private side, Zvika Pick was Quentin Tarantino’s stepfather. Indeed, the American director had started dating Israeli singer Daniella Pick in June 2017 before marrying her in November 2018. In 2020, the couple welcomed their first child, a little boy named Leo. Since July 2022, the family has grown with the arrival of a little girl. In order to get closer to the roots of the singerQuentin Tarantino and Daniella Pick have also decided to live part of the year in Tel Aviv.
