The Christmas season is here to be enjoyed, just like these delicious and crunchy puff pastry Christmas trees.

Advent, Advent – the stove is burning! Namely for these refined puff pastry fir trees with cinnamon and sugar. This quick recipe with a guarantee of success is perfect for anyone who wants to conjure up a delicious Advent pastry for themselves, friends or family without having to spend hours in the kitchen.

With only 5 ingredients and 15 minutes, you can prepare this Christmas pastry in no time at all and will probably get even the biggest hater at Christmas in a festive mood.

Particularly quick and easy: For our quick recipe we use puff pastry from the supermarket refrigerated section, which saves time and nerves in the turbulent pre-Christmas period. And this is how it’s done:

ingredients

  • 1 packet of puff pastry
  • Cinnamon/sugar mixed
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tbsp cream
  • some wooden skewers

Preparation:

  1. Roll out the puff pastry and brush with the cinnamon and sugar mixture.
  2. Then fold the dough over one another and cut it into strips about 1.5 cm thick with a pizza cutter.
  3. Now lay the strips on top of each other in a zigzag and thus form the outline of a Christmas tree. This is then fixed with the wooden skewers.
  4. Now spread the saplings with a mixture of cream and egg yolk – then they will turn golden brown and crispy in the oven.
  5. Baking time: approx. 12-15 minutes at 180°C top and bottom heat.

Editor’s tip: The puff pastry trees can be prepared in a wide variety of sweet variations. Try spreading them with a delicious cream (e.g. speculoos or chocolate cream) instead of cinnamon and sugar. The fir trees also look wonderfully wintry with matching decorations made of snow-white icing sugar or individual “tree decorations” made of chocolate sprinkles.
