The time when luxury primarily meant big logos and extravagance are over – at least for now. “Quiet Luxury” is the name of the trend that is taking over the industry from the quiet back and is also being lived by stars like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Diamonds, crocodile leather, gold – as soon as the term luxury is mentioned, most people automatically conjure up images of logo boards and expensive resources in their heads. For decades, everything that glitters, shines and is difficult to obtain was automatically considered the epitome of pure luxury. But just as tastes change, so can perceptions of quality. And designer pieces with integrated advertising banners and gold trim are currently falling behind in this movement. Luxury doesn’t have to be loud at all – that’s the motto of stars like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, 36, and Gwyneth Paltrow, 51.

These stars embody quiet luxury

Have you often seen Rosie Huntington-Whiteley or Victoria Beckham, 49, in bright colors or with logos on their chests in recent years? Probably not. Not exactly surprising because elegance – and above all calm elegance – made of soft cream colors, flowing fabrics and the finest weave is their mainstay. They prefer to wear cashmere jackets, starched linen shirts and long wool coats with a graphic cut made of wool.

But it’s not just the shining example of famous names that is making the trend, which no one actually wants to be, increasingly popular. Quiet luxury says goodbye to logomania, flashy colors and extravagant details. Instead, the trend relies on high-quality fabrics, timeless cuts and classic colors. The focus is on design and tailoring. The concept behind “Quiet Luxury” is simple: something that is so well made and universally wearable that it has a place in the wardrobe for many years or even forever can boast of being a luxury item. By the way, “Quiet Luxury” isn’t just about a lot of zeros on the bill. Rather, the trend defines a style aesthetic characterized by classic and chic pieces as well as a luxurious finish.

The stars are leading the way, an entire fashion scene is imitating it

The core elements of quiet luxury The new luxury trend can be identified particularly well in the change in accessories and the way they are used. Where previously an eye-catching Gucci logo belt gave the outfit a touch of glamor, the quiet luxury movement relies on more discreet pieces made of the best leather with a small buckle, such as the Bottega Veneta Triangle belt. The classic Omega Constellation Watch with diamonds is swapped for a simple “Cartier Tank” with a leather strap. Oversized coats, cashmere basics and cigarette trousers with contrasting, sophisticated seams also make up the fashion trend.

These brands shape the movement

From high street to high end: more and more well-known brands can be classified as quiet luxury. While labels like Massimo Dutti, Cos and Arket serve the trend in a slightly cheaper range and their online shops stock silk, cashmere and leather pieces Filled with cream, gray and black, designer brands such as Khaite, The Row, Victoria Beckham and Totême are considered pioneers in the high-priced sector.
