Quietly 3: where will the film be located in the saga?

The sequel to the Quietly Saga saga is becoming clearer. After Quietly 2, released last June in France after multiple postponements, the 3rd part is revealed with a title and some elements of its plot, so far kept completely secret.

We finally know a little more about Quietly 3! While Quietly 2 had been postponed for several months due to the pandemic, and finally scheduled in our theaters on June 16, the 3rd part is becoming clearer.

As announced at CinemaCon, episode 3 will not be a sequel but a prequel, whose plot will therefore be located before those of A Quiet Place 1 and 2. The film will return to the origins since it will tell the foundations of the first film released in June 2018, with great international success.

For the record, Quietly told how a family tried to survive under the threat of mysterious creatures attacking at the slightest sound. Episode 3 will return more precisely to the arrival of these mysterious creatures.

The title was at the same time unveiled for the international: A Quiet Place: Day Onethat is, literally translated on the model of the previous ones, Without a sound: Day 1.

Change of director

Contrary to what had been announced previously, it is not Jeff Nichols (Mud, Midnight Special) who will direct this third part. The latter has just been invited to participate in the jury of the Cannes Film Festival 2022, under the chairmanship of Vincent Lindon.

If the name of Jeff Nichols had indeed been confirmed at the time by John Krasinski himself (director of the first two parts), it is finally Michael Sarnoski who will take the controls. Michael Sarnoski is none other than the filmmaker who recently directed the film Pig, worn by Nicolas Cage.

A Quiet Place: Day One will be released on September 20, 2023.

Note that after this prequel, A Quiet Place 3 should also see the light of day, with John Krasinski again directing, and a release scheduled for 2025.
