After its surprise hit in 2018, and its well-received sequel in 2021, the silent thriller Without a sound returns to the origins of the alien invasion with a new film entitled Day 1which has just revealed its first trailer.
No more isolated houses and communities hidden in the countryside, this prequel shifts the point of view to the heart of an overpopulated… and noisy New York. The film is scheduled to be released on June 26, 2024.
New York plunged into silence
Quietly: Day 1 will follow Sam, a young woman passing through New York when the alien attack arrives. Accompanied by her cat Frodo, and soon helped by precious allies, she will have to survive in a city that has fallen into the clutches of monsters hypersensitive to noise.

If we followed Emily Blunt and her family in the first two opuses, this third film offers a completely different setting and another cast to spectators, with the talented Lupita Nyong’o (Us, 12 Years a slave) headlining.
She is accompanied in her adventure by Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things), Djimon Hounsou (Guardians of the Galaxy), Alex Wolff (Hereditary) and Denis O’Hare (Dallas Buyers Club).

Co-written by John Krasinski, at the helm of the first two films, Quietly: Day 1 is co-written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, who caused a sensation three years ago with his film Pig with Nicolas Cage.
Released in 2018, the first Without a sound, with a modest budget of 17 million, had collected 334 million dollars worldwide. The film established itself as a public and critical success with its refreshing postapocalyptic concept. Three years later, in the middle of a pandemic, its sequel with Cillian Murphy also had a great success with nearly 300 million dollars gleaned.

Besides Quietly: Day 1expected in cinemas on June 26 in cinemas, a film Quietly: Part 3 was also announced for 2025.
The first film can be viewed on the Netflix streaming platform until February 29.
