This special French romcom quiz was inspired by the release of Little Love Lesson, with Pierre Deladonchamps (L’Inconnu du lac, Les Chatouilles, Eiffel) and Laetitia Dosch (At the same time, Les Appearances, Jeune femme). A charming and sparkling comedy that relies heavily on this tandem, with a light atmosphere with false airs of Woody Allen or classic American romcoms.

I was nurtured by American comedies of the thirties, forties and fifties“, says director and screenwriter Eve Deboise in the press kit. “In addition to the cinematic pleasure they give us, they cheer us up in the blink of an eye. New York Miami by Frank Capra, with Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert, is a film that I have always adored: I like this movement which pushes dissatisfied beings to get lost on side roads and which leads them to a bubble oxygen and pleasure.

The idea for the film came to Eve Deboise when she herself felt lost in the anonymity of big cities like Paris. The filmmaker explains:In a comic way, too, depression can lead to paranoid states, cause scandals for completely innocuous things. The idea was for two people in this borderline state to crash into each other.

But there is someone even more vulnerable than them who will have to be saved… and that will make them go back up the slope… I wanted that from this fortuitous collusion something funny is born , and even happy ones: unexpected encounters, a fantasy, a poetry… As if these two characters loved each other and orbited others, just as lost as them…

The French romantic comedy Little Love Lesson was released in theaters this Wednesday.
