It was the unmissable event for series fans at the end of the 90s: the famous “Saturday Trilogy” evenings broadcast on the M6 channel from December 6, 1997, before returning to 6ter in 2018.
From the mid-1990s, M6 devoted a few Saturday evenings to broadcasting American series, most of the time fantastic, such as X-Files at the frontiers of reality, or Tales from the Crypt. A dedicated box which will become “Fantastic Saturdays” from January 1996.
It was therefore only in December 1997 that the channel created the new program “The Saturday Trilogy” inspired by the American format. Thrillogy broadcast on the NBC channel, the principle of which is to broadcast episodes of several series during the same evening.
Spectators were thus able to discover a large number of series, forty-seven in total, over several years. There were the adventures of young Buffy, vampire slayer in Sunnydale. The fantastic stories of the Halliwell witches in Charmed. Or the youth of Superman in Smallville, featuring a young Clark Kent always opposed to Lex Luthor.
