The Rings of Power, the event series based on The Lord of the Rings, aired the last episode of season 1 on October 14. Have you been paying close attention? To test your knowledge, we offer you a quiz centered on the swords of the protagonists.
Note that filming has already resumed on the series. No more New Zealand: to save money, the production set up its cameras in Scotland and in a London studio specially designed to accommodate the shots.
The idea is that the filming duration of the following seasons be shorter than the 18 months necessary for season 1 (partly because of the COVID). However, the showrunners recommended not to wait for the season “before two years”.
Season 2 would therefore arrive in 2024 and more likely around October than February. The first season was like a long pilot setting the stakes and the first dangers, while exploring the character of Galadriel, her character, her suffering, her motivations. By the very admission of the creators of the series, season 2 will do the same but with Sauron.
It remains to be seen how the series will stage the devastation caused by the Dark Lord in Middle-earth, which will require a lot of special effects and therefore… post-production time to bring the battles of magnitude.
