A teenager (16) on a moped led a kilometer-long chase with the police in Tyrol on Sunday. The wild ride at far too high speeds finally ended in a corn field. After a short game of hide-and-seek, the speeder was arrested.
Shortly after 5 p.m., a police patrol on Tiroler Straße in Schwaz noticed a moped that was not registered for traffic. As it later turned out, a 16-year-old local man was traveling with it. The officers tried in vain to stop the teenager with the blue lights and horn on. But the driver raced towards Weer at far too high speed and was able to escape for the time being. Hiding from officers in the corn field “During the chase, the fleeing driver in the municipality of Pill tried twice to force the officers off the road through risky driving maneuvers. “The risky driving style also put other road users at risk,” the executive said. In Weer, the 16-year-old finally left his vehicle in a corn field and briefly hid from the police until he finally allowed himself to be arrested without resistance. The young man must now expect several charges.
