Rachel Legrain-Trapani’s Christmas interview: “I dream of taking a trip to Lapland with my children”

At a time when homes have put up their Christmas trees and the holidays are just around the corner, let’s take the time to spend a few minutes with a personality. For this end of the year, Gala.fr asked several stars to talk about Christmas. A souvenir, a gift… Let’s forget the time for an interview this year which was rich in emotions. Rachel Legrain-Trapani, famous for her title of Miss France 2007, agreed to take part in the Christmas interview.

Gala.fr: Has Santa Claus ever disappointed you?

Rachel Legrain-Trapani : Yes, this has already happened to me. Santa gave me a duvet cover. He told me it was a great quality cover that was very expensive. I told him I would have preferred a bag or something like that. (she laughs). Now, as I get older, I would have been happy with this duvet cover. We are evolving.

Gala.fr: This year, what does your Christmas list consist of?

Rachel Legrain-Trapani : Now I’m over the hump, I’m Santa Claus. I would like to take a trip to Lapland with the children. Andrea is three years old and he is like crazy during this time. I would love to take him on a trip to Lapland to see Santa. It would be magical for him but also for us.

Gala.fr: For a Christmas meal, what is the essential food?

Rachel Legrain-Trapani: Chocolate (she laughs).

Gala.fr: The kitsch Christmas sweater, are you for or against it?

Rachel Legrain-Trapani : I adore ! I’m very kitsch. In fact, I just bought mine. It’s a real red and white Christmas sweater with little snowflakes. He is perfect !

Gala.fr: What is your favorite Christmas song?

Rachel Legrain-Trapani: Small Santa. It reminds me of my childhood. And then Andrea knows the song. He’s really cute when he sings it.

Gala.fr: What is the Christmas memory that is anchored in you?

Rachel Legrain-Trapani : My father was dressed as Santa Claus and I recognized his shoes. For me, it was the tragedy of the century because my parents had lied to me for years (she laughs) ! At first I found it weird that Santa had the same shoes as my dad. Then I looked at his face and then I understood that I had been fooled.

Gala.fr: Is the Christmas tree installed on December 1st or… on the wire, just before Christmas?

Rachel Legrain-Trapani : In the North, it is installed on Saint Nicholas Day. So I’m looking forward to December 5th so I can put it on.

Gala.fr: Does having children allow you to rediscover the Christmas spirit?

Rachel Legrain-Trapani : Completely ! Now, when you see the magic in children’s eyes, it’s so cute. It’s a time when we all get together as a family, it’s great. I really love this period.

Gala.fr: Besides, what did your children ask Santa Claus for?

Rachel Legrain-Trapani : My big Gianni asked for football stuff and Pokémon cards. My little Andrea wanted the whole catalog. Finally, he wants cars, Paw Patrol toys and a little dog. But since we just had a cat, we’ll forget (she laughs).

Gala.fr: What is the best gift we could give you?

Rachel Legrain-Trapani : The greatest gift anyone could give me is to see the people who have left so that I can hug them one last time. It’s unrealistic but Christmas remains a family celebration.

Gala.fr: After Christmas, it’s the transition to the new year. How do you view 2024?

Rachel Legrain-Trapani : I can’t wait for 2023 to end. I have the impression that my projects had difficulty coming to fruition. So I want to start on a new page with new goals and directions.
