Rachida Dati curbs Valérie Pécresse’s campaign director

Rachida Dati harshly criticized Patrick Stefanini, the campaign manager of LR presidential candidate Valérie Pécresse, on Thursday, calling him a “loser” and a “deserter” from whom she has “no lessons to learn”.

“Deserters are not my thing”

“I have no lessons to receive from Mr. Stefanini. We must stop with the legend that he made candidates win,” she said on Franceinfo, ensuring that “he never made Chirac win, it was Antoine Rufenacht who was in charge”.

“Stefanini did not exist, they offered him room and board at the time”, with “golden constituencies all over France, he won none” so “the campaign lessons, he would do better to keep them”, added the mayor of the 7th arrondissement of Paris, assailing: “the losers, that does not interest me”.

As for François Fillon, of whom Patrick Stefanini was the campaign manager, “he left him in the open countryside”, added Rachida Dati, insisting: “deserters are not really my thing either”. “He doesn’t give me lessons, I don’t give him lessons” and “he stays in his place”, she hammered, before recalling that Patrick Stefanini “was convicted for fictitious jobs”.

The tone had already risen between Stefanini and Dati

“That’s why we told him (to Valérie Pécresse, Editor’s note) you shouldn’t take it out too much”, assured the leader of the LR opposition in Paris.

The tone had already risen between Patrick Stefanini and Rachida Dati after an interview where the former Sarkozy minister considered Valérie Pécresse’s campaign to be too technical.

“Rachida Dati was a municipal candidate two years ago, all French people remember how it ended”, retorted Patrick Stefanini, before returning to his remarks and talking about “courageous and dynamic campaign who “inspires us every day”. For Rachida Dati, “he rectified in a rather pathetic way”.
