Nicolas Sarkozy’s former Minister of Justice thus succeeded Rima Abdul Malak. A nomination which was extremely commented on. Nicolas Seydoux, the president of Gaumont, is happy that the 58-year-old politician is now Minister of Culture. He spoke on this subject in the columns of Figaro this Wednesday, January 24. “His appointment is a very good thing for culture”, said the 84-year-old. “She is a major politician”, he continued.
The president of Gaumont has complete confidence in Rachida Dati. According to Nicolas Seydoux, “there will be purely technical discussions” with the new minister, in particular on “the contribution of platforms to French creation”. “Rachida Dati must maintain direct contact with the Head of State to be able to influence important issues”, explains Nicolas Seydoux to the journalist from Figaro.

A sweet attention from his daughter
A few days earlier, on January 17, Paris Match devoted an article to Rachida Dati. We learn that an attitude of Rima Abdul Malak greatly displeased the former Minister of Justice: the office she left him on rue de Valois, in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, was almost entirely empty when she took possession of the premises. However, the mother can find comfort in the attention of her daughter. Zohra, aged 14, who wrote a little note on a Post-it: “So that mom thinks of me.” The little sentence is now stuck on a lamp in Rachida Dati’s new office, the magazine said.
