Rachida Dati rebound: she comes back violently against Anne Hidalgo

Rachida Dati once again attacked Anne Hidalgo. The mayor of the 7th arrondissement of Paris is firmly committed against the proposed redevelopment of the axis Trocadéro – Eiffel Tower – Champ de Mars wanted by the elected.

It’s no secret: between Anne Hidalgo and Rachida Dati, the agreement is not in good shape. This Monday, May 2, the former Keeper of the Seals (again) jumped at the chance to fly in the feathers of his rival by currying the recent redevelopment project proposed by the latter. As a reminder, Anne Hidalgo had in mind to revegetate and “pedestrianize” the surroundings of the Trocadéro and the Eiffel Tower, by having certain trees felled in order to build premises and luggage storage. Faced with this project threatening some twenty trees, some of which are centenarians, several associations and personalities have stepped up to the plate, like Nagui or Hugo Clément. Faced with the growing controversy, the mayor of Paris assured that she was abandoning any slaughter project, but this backpedaling does not seem to be enough for Rachida Dati. “Under the guise of development, this project like so many others undertaken since 2014 contributes to destroying Paris and its historical sites by concreting and cutting down trees in all directions!“, dropped the former Minister of Justice on Twitter, before adding: “In which other city are trees replaced by commercial premises? What other town hall gives priority to tourist buses over local transport for its inhabitants? What other mayor pays so little attention to a public consultation that she doesn’t even bother to respond to it?

Rachida Dati and Anne Hidalgo: clashes in series

Strongly opposed to the management of the French capital of Anne Hidalgo, Rachida Dati had even launched to her, during the Paris council last October: “You’re at 4%, and you won’t go any further. (…) Faced with the weakness of your candidacythe Council of Paris becomes a platform for your desperate and hopeless electoral campaign“. That is what is said!
