Despite repeated requests to stop, a Klagenfurt man sped away from the police – a trash can ultimately stopped him. After a chase, the man fell and was taken to Klagenfurt Hospital.
Without lights, recklessly and at around 60 km/h, a 37-year-old from Klagenfurt sped away from the police. On Sunday evening, shortly after 8 p.m., the police patrol on Waidmannsdorfer Straße noticed an e-scooter driver driving into the city at far too high a speed. “Despite repeated requests to stop, the man continued to drive,” said the police. Trash can stops escapeThe man raced carelessly along sidewalks and crossed Rosentalerstrasse without stopping, with other vehicle drivers having to brake abruptly to avoid a collision. “After colliding several times with the patrol car, he tried to escape again, but collided with a trash can,” the police said. “As a result, he fell and injured himself.” After he refused an alcohol and drug test, he was taken to the Klagenfurt Clinic by emergency services. There was an unspecified amount of damage to the patrol car and the e-scooter. The 37-year-old was reported for several traffic violations.
