From September, the two new graphics cards could fill the huge gap that remains in AMD’s RDNA 3 catalog.
Almost 8 months after the first launch of RDNA 3, AMD would finally be on the verge of “standardizing” its offer compared to that of NVIDIA.
Finally the Radeon RX 7700 and 7800!
Indeed, while many enthusiasts were impatient to finally see competition for NVIDIA’s mid-range (the RTX 4070s felt very alone on the market), AMD had surprised its world.
Rather than announcing the Radeon RX 7700 or 7800, AMD formalized the release of the RX 7600, an entry-level model even lower on paper than the RTX 4060 Ti that NVIDIA had just released. Some would say that AMD felt it had a shot at the entry level, taking advantage of its few weeks ahead of the RTX 4060.
But now, 2 good months after the release of this Radeon RX 7600, we finally have the first tangible information about the mid-range RDNA 3.
On sale from September?
Keep in mind that this information does not come from AMD. It is therefore possible that the calendar mentioned is largely turned upside down… especially since the source cited by VideoCardz is none other than Moore’s Law is Dead, which alternates between reliable data and more “original” details.
Moore’s Law is Dead therefore indicates that it has information about the launch of Navi 32 GPU-based cards. Without too much surprise, it would be a question of an RX 7800 XT and an RX 7700XT.
For the first, we are talking about 3,840 stream processors, 16 GB of GDDR 6, a bandwidth of 624 GB/s and a TDP of 260 watts. The second should have between 3072 and 3456 stream processors, and a total of 12 GB of video memory, still GDDR 6. Bandwidth would drop to 468 GB/s, due to the use of a 192 interface bits. The TDP would be at 240 watts.
Finally, and this is probably the most important, Moore’s Law is Dead insists that Gamescom 2023 would be chosen by AMD to formalize the two graphics cards before effective marketing in September.
