Raft: How to unlock and craft the foundry?

On rafting, some constructs are more useful than others. For example, the foundry is a very important and essential element, if you want to progress on the title of Redbeet Interactive and Axolot Games. Therefore, we explain the procedure to follow in order to unlock the manufacturing plan of the foundry and in order to build it.

Get the Foundry on Raft

Unlock the “Foundry” blueprint

In order to have a foundry or more on your raft, you must first unlock the crafting plan for said construction. For this, it is imperative to have a workbench. If so, approach your workbench and interact with it.

Therefore, it will be necessary to study a plank of wood, a brick, a piece of scrap metal and a nail. Rest assured, apart from the brick, it is relatively easy to find these items. On the other hand, if you do not know how to make a brick, we tell you how to do it in the following paragraph.

Crafting and using the foundry

Once you have the crafting blueprint for the foundry, you must search for the necessary and requested resources to craft this construction. In order to craft a foundry, you need the following items:

• 4 wooden planks.
  • Can be harvested from barrels and chests or by cutting down trees with an axe.
• 6 bricks.
  • Can be obtained by unlocking said crafting blueprint and using sand and clay.
• 4 pieces of scrap.
  • Can be picked up from barrels/chests, floating in the ocean, or by searching island reefs.
• 6 nails.
  • Can be crafted from Scrap Parts.

If you have all these resources, just go to the “Others” tab, via the construction menu. From there, click on “Craft” and position your foundry. Be aware that this construction, as its in-game description indicates, allows you, for example, to transform metal ore, copper, sand in order to obtain metal ingots, copper ingots or even glass.

As a reminder, rafting came out of its early access during the month of June, of this year. The game is available on PC, via Steam.
