In Chur, Mathilde Gremaud provides the highlight from a Swiss point of view. Andri Ragettli narrowly missed the podium.

In the end, 0.5 points separated Andri Ragettli from a second place on the podium from a Swiss point of view. Before the Graubünden native, Mathilde Gremaud, had already delighted over 10,000 fans at the start of the season. In contrast to the woman from Freiburg, Ragettli’s points should not be on the Swiss side.

No getting past Ruud

Anyway, Ragettli couldn’t have had a say in winning in Chur. Reason: Birk Ruud. The Norwegian Olympic champion deserved the victory in particular thanks to his “Switch 900 Bring Back”, presented for the first time in the competition, which was rewarded with 95.75 points by the jury.

Two North Americans, Noah Porter MacLennan (CAN) and the surprising Troy Podmilsak (USA), finished behind Ruud. So Ragettli, who came second in qualifying, was only left with the thankless 4th place right next to the podium.

Like teammate Kim Gubser, Fabian Bösch missed the final of the top ten athletes. The Austrian Lukas Müllauer, the leader, had to give up after qualifying after injuring his head during a training jump shortly before the final competition.

Also Gremaud on the podium

Gremaud also started the decision from second with a good starting position. However, the woman from Freiburg struggled at the start under the floodlights in Chur and promptly fell on the first attempt. With the pressure of the discarded result in the back, Gremaud managed the next two jumps.

The 22-year-old enchanted the audience, especially during her second appearance on the ski jump. She opted for a “Double Cork 1260”, which she stood confidently and which she carried in 3rd place in the final standings. Only the French day winner Tess Ledeux and Sandra Eie from Norway ranked ahead of Gremaud.

Sarah Höfflin, who jumped to second place at the same place last year, decided not to start on Thursday evening at short notice.
